Cardiac electrophysiological exploration is an invasive examination of basic rhythmology. Its objective is to test the proper functioning of the normal “electric wires” of the heart (bundle of His), and to look for abnormal ones (cardiac arrhythmias).
In which case is an electrophysiological exploration carried out?
Most often, this examination is offered in the event of:
- loss of consciousness or malaise, with no obvious cause found during basic examinations ( echocardiography , electrocardiogram or 24-hour Holter ECG).
- tachycardia attacks , to obtain an accurate diagnosis of the cause. In particular, we are looking for the existence of an abnormal cardiac electrical bundle.
